In August 2010, Hollywood icon Michael Douglas (66) made public that he had been diagnosed with advanced larynx cancer. He underwent a radiation and chemotherapy and lost almost 30 pounds. In January 2011, he reported to his fans that the tumour had vanished.

Douglas said: There is no reason to get euphoric. He has to wait and see for several months to be able to tell for sure that he has defeated the cancer. Nevertheless, he is optimistic.

After his healing from cancer, Michael Douglas wants to do everything he can to stay healthy. The first measure is less alcohol and no cigarettes. Douglas announced he would dismiss some bad habits.
